Executive Summary The Crossroads Cafe English Learning Program is meeting with enormous success in the State of Florida. Program Directors, teachers, volunteers. and students alike are enthusiastically incorporating materials into their programs in an infinite number of creative ways and at all levels. This evaluation identifies what the Florida Department of Education in partnership with Florida Human Resources Development, Inc. are doing right to bring about this amazing response to implementation in Florida. Intelecom will be moving forward with two new initiatives: "On Common Ground" is a new citizenship series which consists of 15 1/2 hour videos focusing primarily on the Civics and History part of the Citizenship exam. "On Common Ground" is due to launch December, 1998. The second intiative
is a follow-up to the current Crossroads Cafe program and focuses primarily
on Family Literacy issues. There are a number of states collaborating on
this effort. Crossroads Cafe II
is due out late 1999 or early 2000.
